dc.description.abstractTales of Miletus: Answer that the first principle is water; because it is the principle of life and change. Anaximander: I imagined that all things come from an eternal substance that can become an object of the cosmos. Anaximenes: It said that the principle of all natural things was air, because it allowed life. Heraclitus: He maintained that the first substance of nature is fire, that everything transforms it. Parmenides: Being the only quality that has the objects of the world in common. Pythagoras: Consider the number as a principle, because anyone who takes the matter always take the form of a number. Empédocles: considers that all natural phenomenon results from the combination of four elements: water, air, fire and earth.es
