When searching for the word " linear" in the dictionary is , among other definitions, as follows: linear ( Linealis lat . ) . Of or pertaining to the line. However , in mathematics the word " linear" has a much broader meaning. Much of the elementary linear algebra theory is in fact a generalization of the properties of the straight line.
