Avances en la síntesis y rendimiento magnético de nanopartículas de hexaferrita de estroncio

La hexaferrita de estroncio tipo M (SrFe12O19) es una cerámica magnética de relevancia tecnológica debido a sus propiedades magnéticas, elevada anisotropía magnetocristalina y alta estabilidad química. La transición de este material del bulto a la escala nanométrica ha permitido optimizar sus propiedades magnéticas. Este artículo presenta una revisión estructurada de los avances recientes en las rutas de síntesis empleadas para el control morfológico y dimensional de las nanopartículas de hexaferrita de estroncio. Asimismo, se analiza la correlación intrínseca entre los parámetros estructurales y el desempeño magnético final, particularmente en términos de coercitividad, magnetización de remanencia, magnetización de saturación y producto de energía máxima. Finalmente, se discuten los horizontes tecnológicos y las aplicaciones emergentes de estos nanomateriales, haciendo especial énfasis en su integración para el diseño de compósitos avanzados y su empleo como nano-adsorbentes magnéticos en procesos de remediación ambiental de efluentes acuosos y en la recuperación de tierras raras.
