Characterization of different substrates with rough surfaces for the recovery of different metals by means of potentiodynamic tests

Abstract

A characterization of 7 metals with rough surface is carried out to evaluate their performance in a solution with pH 7, being that one or more substrates are sought for the recovery of dissolved metals in effluents; with two benefits: the use of recovered metals and lessen their impact on the environment. The tests in this solution showed that the activation polarization does not present drastic changes in the surface of the material, they present a good response since they do not have representative variability. Taking into account that they will be used for the recovery of metallic materials in solution, the best options are A316, Ti and Fe steel, the pH of the solution to be treated is taken into account to prevent the substrate from changing from cathode to anode.
