Effect of strontium in the magnetic transition fields of Y-type hexaferrite
Abstract
Y type hexaferrite are magnetic ceramic materials with a structure with a space group R-3m, which has spinel and tetragonal blocks stacked along the c axis, the direction of the total spin moment of each block rotate along the c axis with a wave vector giving rise to different magnetic phases, these phases are chemically and thermally dependent. The principal fact of these materials is the spin driven ferroelectricity of some magnetic phases of the y type hexaferrites, which produce type II magnetoelectric multiferroics with a strong magnetoelectric coupling. In the present work the influence of the Sr2+ ion on the onset field of the field induced magnetic phases in the Y type hexaferrites with chemical composition Ba1-xSrxNi2Fe11AlO22 with x = 1.0, 1.1 y 1.3.
