Importancia de la Rehabilitación Protésica en Odontología Comparación del Análisis Electromiográfico en Pacientes Sanos y en Pacientes Parcialmente Desdentados

Resumen

Reconocer la importancia de la eficiencia masticatoria, en los pacientes que se atienden tanto en las clínicas dentales universitarias como en las particulares, es de suma importancia para el Cirujano Dentista, el objetivo de este trabajo es determinar a través de un análisis electromiográfico del músculo mastero, el estado que guarada este músculo. Se realizó un estudio longitudinal comparativo en tres grupos, uno sano, y los otros dos, parcialmente edéntulos clase I y II de Kennedy, evaluando la actividad eléctrica. Se obtuvieron los valores del Coeficiente de Correlación de la Raíz Cuadrática Media (RMS) a un total de 48 pacientes (19 sanos, 16 en calse I y 13 en clase II), se aplicó una prueba de análisis de varianza (ANOVA) y prueba de Tukey (p˂0.05). El grupo de pacientes sanos, mostró significativamente un valor mayor (0.90), en comparación con los grupos de desdentados parcial. La ausencia de dientes implica deficiencia en la masticación, lo que afecta en la salud de los músculos que llevan a cabo esta función.
