Localización de Sitios Anatómicos de Referencia
Abstract
Anatomic references are skeleton points easily to identify; they are generally close to the body surface and are the “marks” which identifies the precise location of a measuring place. They are found simply by touch using the thumb and index finger marking them as reference.
The objective of the practice is for the student to learn and perform the skeleton point’s location to execute anthropometric assessment and body composition.
A dermographic pencil, alcohol swabs and anthropometric tape are needed to carry out the practice.
The examined reference points are: acromion, radius, acromion-radius midpoint, biceps skinfold, triceps skinfold, subscapular, ileo-underarm line, ileocrestal and ileocrestal skin fold.
Results. Students work in pairs helping each other in order to find the right position to locate de anatomic points and to know about the names of the bone and anatomic structures for the anthropometric measures.
When the students integrate their practice, they indicate the name of the anatomic points and analyze and interpret the utility related to the anthropometric assessment and body composition.
