Sorción de NH4+ y NH3 en una toba zeolítica

Resumen

En el presente trabajo de investigación se ha empleado una toba zeolítica constituida principalmente por clinoptilolita (66.9%) para realizar experimentos de sorción de NH4+ en soluciones acuosas a 25 °C y NH3 en fase gaseosa a 40 °C. Previo a la sorción, se ha modificado la toba a su forma potásica y cálcica, respectivamente. La máxima sorción experimental de NH4+ en la toba natural fue de 0.1342 meq/g, en la toba potásica 0.1850 meq/g y en la toba cálcica 0.1793 meq/g. Los datos experimentales de sorción de NH4+ en la toba natural se ajustan a la isoterma de Freundlich, mientras que para la toba potásica y cálcica se ajustan a la isoterma de Langmuir. La cantidad máxima experimental retenida de NH3 para la toba natural fue de 2.5190 mmol/g, para la toba potásica fue de 2.1196 mmol/g y para la toba cálcica 2.4842 mmol/g, en este caso, el modelo de adsorción que se ajustó mejor a los datos experimentales fue la isoterma de Freundlich.
