Biomarcadores en vesículas extracelulares: Una alternativa para el diagnóstico del Cáncer Colorrectal

Resumen

El cáncer colorrectal (CCR) es una enfermedad caracterizada por el crecimiento descontrolado de células en cualquiera de las cuatro porciones del colon o en el recto, es un problema de salud pública en todo el mundo. En México es el 3° cáncer con mayor incidencia y el 2° lugar con más defunciones. El principal factor de riesgo inherente para el CCR es la edad creciente. Se presentan factores de riesgo modificables y no modificables en esta patología que lleva a tener unas evidencias limitadas de su presencia.  Dentro de las opciones de diagnóstico con las que se cuentan en la actualidad encontramos opciones de pruebas en heces y exámenes visuales endoscópicos y/o radiológicos. Se ha demostrado que los biomarcadores con características de procesos biológicos, patogénicos o farmacológicos específicos son indicadores objetivos y se ha informado que mejoran el diagnóstico, el pronóstico y la terapia del CCR. En esta revisión, ilustraremos los principales biomarcadores identificados de vesículas extracelulares aisladas del CCR.
