The “kissing bug” does not love you: American trypanosomiasis

Abstract

Chagas Disease or American Trypanosomiasis is an endemic parasite disease in most of the Mexican territory. According to the World Health Organization, although is one of most dangerous parasite infections, it is a neglected health problem and is considered an underdiagnosed disease. At the world level, it is considered that tens of millions of people are in danger of being infected by the parasite. Huasteca area climatic conditions favor bug vector proliferation and, in consequence, its population has a high risk of being infected. The aim is to provide an infographic means for instructing the population in order to prevent the disease.
