Mobile augmented reality applied to simplify the Quality Management System

Keywords: Augmented Reality (AR), Quality Management System, Continuous Improvement, Industry 4.0

Abstract

Augmented Reality (AR), one of the tools of Industry 4.0, emerges as an aid in the Quality Management System (QMS), contributing to simplifying the information contained in procedures to meet internal and external ISO 9001:2015 audits related to the communication clause. This work utilized AR to explain warehouse procedures and serve as tools within a warehouse. The methodology employed focused on identifying mobile applications with the potential to integrate Augmented Reality (AR), with the chosen application being ROAR.IO® used to explain a raw material warehouse procedure within an organization. Subsequently, the physical information was converted to digital format, followed by the implementation of mobile visual interaction. As a result, through a mobile device located in the warehouse workstation, starting from a base image, detailed and summarized information about the procedure could be displayed, enabling a more efficient and effective experience for the user.
