Obtención de papel artesanal a partir de S. Californicus del lago de Tecocomulco y estudio de su biodegradabilidad

Resumen

En este artículo se establece la importancia del papel en nuestra vida cotidiana y el impacto ambiental y social que provoca su elaboración. También se aborda la caracterización de la celulosa obtenida de S. californicus o tule, planta invasora que debido al exceso de nutrientes provenientes de escorrentías naturales y antropogénicas, crece desmedidamente abarcando un gran porcentaje del lago de Tecocomulco; razón por la cual, se plantea su uso como materia prima para la elaboración de papel artesanal y cuyo ensayo de biodegradabilidad en un digestor demuestra que es posible emplearlo como una alternativa sustentable, implicando beneficios importantes como combatir la eutrofización del lago y promover la economía de la región mediante su elaboración.
