Abstract

In the present essay we described the meaning of kaolin, their properties and importance in Mexico, its features according to their industrial applications as well as, the restrictions about its use due to some impurities, mainly iron, generally content as oxides and hydroxides, which give the brown-beige coloration, depending of the content of this element. We emphasize the need to removal iron for its bleaching, using several methods (physical and chemical) including reductive leaching, method implemented in The Earth Sciences and Materials Academic Area of Basic Sciences and Engineering Institute of Hidalgo University.
