Abstract

The purpose of the teaching cycle is to integrate the English skills. (writing, reading, listening, and speaking). That is the reason why, the objective of the following thesis is to analyze the variables and tools of the TC in the learning of the English language in students of the Autonomous University of Hidalgo State who are part of the administration undergraduate program of the Escuela Superior de Tepeji del Rio. Some of the contributions of the current research are count on a diagnosis regarding the methodology of the TC and how it has been perceived by the target students. This way, it could be possible to establish follow up based on this analysis; moreover, it is ensured that the didactic resources are developed according to the knowledge and abilities of students from the first to the sixth semester who are taking the subject. This way, teachers will be able to balance the variables and tools offered by the TC. The research has a quantitative focus with an explorative, descriptive, and relational approach, with a sample of 160 students from this undergraduate program. The data collection technique has been a survey to analyze the students´ perspective. The instrument was subjected to the Logit Ordinal Analysis. The findings obtained allow us to visualize that the variables of the TC are applied and understood in a heterogeneous way, which means, Reading 42.10% understand texts in English, and 37.70% consider those readings difficult. To the Listening just 35.20% are able to understand a conversation, and the other 41.50% claim that it is hard for them to understand an oral conversation with native people. On the other hand, in relation to writing, just 38.40% consider the writing activities done in class useful to improve their English writing. Finally, 39% of students believe that oral practices improve their confidence in class, and 31% claim this practice to be rather unattractive.
