Abstract

The administrative sciences present complex problems where specific tools are required to obtain feasible solutions guaranteeing the best or the best solutions. Optimization is one of the problems with greater  frequency and that until a few years ago had been solved with traditional techniques, however these types of techniques are focused on optimizing a single objective. The technological advance has allowed the development of numerous optimization methods, reducing analysis time, optimizing more than one objective, obtaining a range of optimal solutions, among other characteristics. During the development of the article, the economic importance of the correct location of a distribution center (CEDIS) in a tourist region is exposed. The optimization of the objective function used in the location of the CEDIS is done by the PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization) method, considered a new generation optimization method.
