Uso de 8D para optimizar el consumo de herramientas en una planta de autobuses urbanos

Este estudio tiene como objetivo reducir el consumo excesivo de herramientas en una empresa de ensamble de autobuses urbanos mediante la aplicación de la metodología 8D. A partir del despliegue de Hoshin Kanri, se identificó el apremio de optimizar costos en herramientas, por lo que se implementó un enfoque estructurado de resolución de problemas para determinar las causas raíz, desarrollar acciones correctivas y evitar su reincidencia. Los resultados muestran una reducción del 37.48% en el consumo total de herramientas, optimizando costos de operación y optimizando la eficiencia en la administración de recursos, superando el parámetro establecido en el Hoshin kanri. Además, la estandarización de procedimientos permitió replicar estas mejoras en toda la dotación de herramientas dentro de la empresa. Se concluye que la metodología 8D es una herramienta eficaz para optimizar procesos en la industria automotriz, fomentando la eficacia operativa y la sostenibilidad. Futuros estudios podrían enfocarse en la digitalización del control de herramientas y en la expansión de esta metodología a otros procesos productivos, con el fin de maximizar su impacto y asegurar la mejora continua en la gestión de recursos.
