Trouble identification by means of continuous improvement tools at the automotive department in a telecommunications company

Keywords: Maintenance, Continuous Improvement, Pareto Chart, PDCA, Telecommunications

Abstract

Continuous Improvement Tools (CIT) have become important in the workplace, because they allow the analysis of current situations, identifying the main trouble that affect efficiency in companies. Regarding Telecommunications Company, the CIT were implemented in the automotive department, since it presented a series of inconsistencies, which caused a series of claims, low efficiency in this department and higher expenses in corrective maintenance. Some tools were implemented as the PDCA cycle, Pareto diagram and cause-effect diagram. This made it possible to identify the root cause that affects the company, which lies in the lack of an adequate maintenance program.
