The ecological footprint, an indicator of sustainability
Abstract
The ecological footprint is a community tool used in sustainability issues to assess the impact that human activities cause to the environment by daily activities such as transportation, industry, food, etc. It was created to know the impact that each individual generates according to the demand for natural resources with which they live and the waste of pollutants emitted in a given area. In various cases, the amount of resources that we use to subsist is exceeded, so it is necessary to raise awareness of the decrease in the environmental impact that we generate every day.
