Keywords: Stoicism, ataraxia, resilience, serenity, self-control

Abstract

In his work Manual of life, the Stoic philosopher Epictetus offers a timeless guide to finding inner serenity amidst life's adversities. Through principles such as self-control, acceptance, and rational perspective, Epictetus challenges readers to rethink their relationship with death and to take responsibility for their own reactions to circumstances. His message, relevant after more than 19 centuries, remains a powerful tool for promoting emotional well-being and facing life's challenges with calmness and mental clarity.
