Abstract

Acute complications in Diabetes Mellitus, contemplate different diseases such as: Hypoglycemia, in which we found glucose levels lower than 70mg/dL and adrenergic symptoms; diabetic ketoacidosis, characterized by hyperglycemia and metabolic acidosis; hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state, which features  hyperosmolarity and dehydration; and mixed state which shares diabetic ketoacidosis  and hyperosmolar hyperglycemic states characteristics, In summary this pathologies are a real life threat and can leave sequels.

Therefore, it becomes very important to have a diagram that illustrates us all acute complications of diabetes, which displays clinical findings, diagnostic tests, and treatment, allowing the user to have early intervention and reduction of late complications and also avoid death.
