Abstract
"Life stories" is an autobiography where the thoughts and stories of the protagonist are intertwined. The autobiography narrates her private life. The homely touches, with which her parent’s warmth had been marked the path since her infancy until her adulthood, highlighting her concerns and ideals in achieving emancipation.
It also tell us, by random memory, the little and insignificant adventures that the protagonist lived in her daily life and in his life as nurse. The way she met love, the bittersweet taste of freedom, friendship, her job at different hospitals and public centers, the power of love, her fears and challenges; in brief, all the ingredients that complete her life.
Fundamentally, the work engages us into the world of health and into the experience of the protagonist as a nurse, not just only in Mexico but in countries such as Peru, Nicaragua, Brazil, France and Kenya. Along her road, she found the day to day of a profession in which she treats a terminally ill patient, at the same time that she promote education and training for patients and their family members.
Her role formation model was Florencia Nigtingale, remarkable Italian nurse, born in 1820, who reformed health system. She was also a fighter for women rights and an agency expert. Hence, her inclination for statistics, administration and teaching knowledge.
