Comparación de la calidad nutrimental de los programas de asistencia social alimentaria públicos y privados en Hidalgo
Abstract
Food programs are a fundamental part of the social assistance which overall aim is to provide vulnerable and risk groups various types of food aid in order to improve their nutritional status and fulfill the right to food based on the laws governing this assistance. These programs can be public or private, and, specifically from the organizations providing direct food aid, the products supplied may vary as their distribution dynamics.
This paper includes the following programs: National Crusade against Hunger, DIF Hidalgo and Mexico’s Food Bank, which provide food of the basic basket and supplements, scholar breakfasts and other products respectively.
Food programs in Mexico constitute a bench supply to everyone who has access, for ensuring compliance to the natural right to food, contribute to improve the state of nutrition and a better quality of life, however, it is clearly needed multidisciplinary and multisectorial strategies to reduce nutritional problems in the country.
