Psychoeducational Intervention about feeding practices related to food in mother-child dyads

Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of an Psicoeducative intervention to Modified and or improve parenting practices related to nutritional status healthy and non-healthy   in mother-child dyads in students between 8 to 10 years of age in two public elementary Located in Pachuca, Hidalgo.

Random way the control and experimental group were formed, being the first phase Wait, while the second begin its intervention back to the first evaluation. The intervention will consist of 10 sessions, which contents are Healthy Eating, Emotional Eating, Healthy lunchbox, parental strategies related to feeding etc; and Three Core Components (cognitive, behavioral and informative).

The Following Instruments moms were applied: Child Feeding Questionnaire (CFQ), The brief questionnaire of parental practices (Parent Version) Scale factors Risk Associated with disorders of Conduct Food (EFRATA) and the Food Child Behavior Questionnaire (CEBQ); To Children were administered: the Brief Questionnaire of Parental Practices (Children version) and the Children's Eating Attitudes Test (ChEAT).

To evaluate the Effectiveness of Intervention is measure the effect on the Following variables: parental perception of Practice, Child Behavior and Attitudes Toward Food of both Mother and child.

Total of Study Participants are N = 75 mother-child dyads. Which of n = 40 children (53%) and 35 girls (46%) with ages between 8 years and 11 9.19 = 0.51 results in BMI, which is Found For Entire Sample N = 75 the minimum WAS 13.17 29.42 Maximum of M = 18, SD = 3.28 and nail. In The moms of School Ages ranged between 24 and 51 years M = 35 years (6). Results in BMI was found that mothers N = 75 the minimum STR of 17.67 and 43.79 Maximum was, the M = 25.88 and SD = 5.43. Expected to find positive changes in the experimental group after the intervention and that changes are maintained at 3 months follow-up.
