Perspectivas teóricas de la internacionalización: Un análisis desde la IED y la empresa multinacional

Resumen

El análisis teórico sobre la internacionalización ha cambiado debido al nuevo entorno tecnológico que rodea a las empresas y que las obliga a desarrollar nuevas estrategias para competir en el mercado global. El objetivo de este artículo es describir las diferentes perspectivas teóricas que explican el fenómeno de la internacionalización a través de la dinámica de las empresas multinacionales (EMN) y la actividad de la inversión extranjera directa (IED), en la disciplina de los negocios internacionales. Este trabajo permite alcanzar un mayor nivel explicativo sobre las teorías y problemáticas de la disciplina y presenta las estrategias que implementan hoy las empresas para generar y sostener ventajas competitivas en el mercado internacional. Por último, se sugiere una agenda de investigación futura y se expresa la importancia de su estudio dentro de los negocios internacionales en la época actual.
