Abstract

The relationship between the printed image and the use of new media has allowed the incorporation of new elements to the language and process of the activity of traditional engraving, making it necessary to extend this term to the broader concept of "graphic". Furthermore, with the development of graphic arts higher production pathways were generated; often exceeding their own. Therefore, it seems appropriate context, what has been the role played by the graph to contemporary art, and what have been the syntactic and technical aspects that he has inherited.

There were four main areas, contemporary art takes the graph: the syntax of the image, the multiplicity of the work from the technical processes, the search for new processes or reproduction stamping and blending of techniques, and hybridization with other means. That is why we find it important to illustrate each of these aspects.
