Abstract

On September 17, 2020, the inauguration of the V International Festival of Mexican Music takes place in Monterrey, Mexico, directed by Dr. Beania Salcedo Moncada from the Faculty of Music of the Autonomous University of Nuevo León and the one who subscribes presents in a recital in the Aula Magna of the Colegio Civil in Monterrey, the work “Unter dem Sternhimmel des Rheins” by the Mexican composer José Elizondo.

This event serves as the starting point for this interview that addresses aspects of his musical education, his duality as an engineer graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, his migration to the United States, and his international success as a composer of the cello.
