Contraste tecnológico en plantación de piña: resultados de un viaje de estudios de la Licenciatura en Gestión de Negocios Agropecuarios
Resumen
Study trips are an educational component of high value for the generation of experiential learning. A study trip was made to the pineapple region of the lower basin of the Papaloapan River with the purpose of illustrating the different areas of action of the agricultural business manager. Specifically, the objective of the article is to contrast the pineapple plantation systems in their traditional modality and in a protected environment in technological, economic and ecological terms. An enterprise with management of both plantation systems was visited to analyze the contrasts. It was found that the technology is the basis for the economic and ecological results of the crop. The use of protected environment technology translates into lower production costs per ton and harvested fruit of higher quality and higher price. In the ecological aspect, the protected environment generates positive net balances that can be promoted as a commercial differentiator for Mexican pineapples compared to those produced in other countries.
