Fuentes de información para la toma efectiva de decisiones entre agroemprendedores

Los emprendedores agropecuarios toman múltiples decisiones que afectan el desempeño de sus unidades de producción. El objetivo fue determinar qué fuentes de información o combinación de ellas permiten tomar decisiones que generan resultados positivos. Se analizaron la mejor y la peor decisiones tomadas por 24 agroemprendedores dedicados a la producción de jitomate bajo invernadero, una actividad cuyo dinamismo económico y tecnológico ofrecen condiciones adecuadas para estudiar la toma de decisiones. Entre tres fuentes de información examinadas; la observación de comportamientos en otros, la experimentación propia y la interacción social, se encuentra que una combinación de las tres conduce a los agroemprendedores a tomar decisiones que generan resultados satisfactorios. Dentro de esta combinación, la observación se erige como la fuente de información principal y la experimentación y la interacción social fungen como fuentes complementarias. Los hallazgos sugieren que los agroemprendedores efectivos toman decisiones mediante comportamientos que no necesariamente se alinean con los comportamientos más clásicamente atribuidos a los emprendedores.
