Quarterly analysis of the fluctuation for the Ozone of the Merced station of the Automatic Atmospheric Monitoring Network of Mexico City

Keywords: Ozone O_(3 ), Hurst exponent, persistence, structure function

Abstract

This paper shows the scaling trend of fluctuations in  air pollutant concentration records taken from the Merced monitoring station (MER) of the metropolitan area of the Valley of Mexico (ZMVM). The structure function of order two is used as a measure to establish the tendency of registers using the Hurst exponent H. Four time series of  were used per year during the period from 2010 to 2018. It was found that the fluctuations of  obey a behavior of power law, where statistical persistence is obtained for the first three quarters and antipersistence for the last quarter.
