Systemic approach to tackle the tourism phenomenon from a transdisciplinary and complex perspective
Abstract
The objective of this paper is to identify the advantages offered by the systemic approach when approaching the tourism phenomenon starting from transdisciplinarity and taking up complexity as an inherent characteristic of it. A narrative review was carried out, which allowed generating an analysis of the postulates of the main authors who approach the tourist phenomenon from the systemic perspective. Derived from this review, it was found that although the tourism phenomenon is widely approached from the perspective of systems, most of the authors who explain tourism as a system limit themselves to approaching it from the general theory of systems (GST), which is incomplete. In most cases, which results in not contemplating the entire interdisciplinary field that systems science offers, falling into reductionism that is contrary to the systemic approach.
