Actual Situation of the Beekeeping in the Huasteca Hidalguense
Abstract
In this document are described the conditions in wich beekeeping in the huasteca Hidalguense is developed with the premise that when an organization does not strengthen its value chain does not have sufficient elements for the final consumer to perceive a value for which is willing to pay a difference in price. The present research is derived from a study carried out at a cooperative of beekeepers of the Municipality of San Felipe Orizatlan, Hidalgo Mexico, which is composed of 16 small producers of which a survey was made on the way in which they execute their chain of value and was compared with the theoretical concepts of several authors.
Being able to observe through the collected information that in a high percentage of producers does not value their primary activities, which places their product in a low competitive level, this prevents the appearance of the apicola activity in a profitable economic activity and alone is considered a secondary or subsistence activity and can be highly profitable.
