Integrated mechanism of Pestalotiopsis fungus isolation

Keywords: Fragaria, Neopestalotiopsis, Pathogenicity, Rosaceae

Abstract

The production of berries at the international level is of great importance due to its economic profitability. In 2020, production reached 555,514 tons with an economic value of $10,720,443.96. The main strawberry producing states are Michoacán, Baja California and Guanajuato. Worldwide, it is grown mainly in China, United States of America, Spain and Mexico, followed by Turkey, Egypt, Republic of Korea, Japan, Poland and Russia. Strawberries serve as a source of essential nutrients and phytochemicals such as anthocyanins and ellagitannins. Currently, there is a pest that plagues strawberry crops, including strawberries. This pest is known as "secadera" caused by the fungus Neopestalotiopsis. In the present work, the importance of strawberry and the pest that causes 100% losses are mentioned.
