Tranquilizer: Benzodiazepines
Abstract
Benzodiazepines are a group of drugs that are used to treat anxiety, stress and other disorders such as insomnia and depression. Occasionally, it tries to interfere with those in the brain that transmit messages to brain cells (neurotransmitters). Reduce the "excitement" of many neurons, having a calming effect. The doctor prescribes, this prescription must be temporary, because they do not improve depression, its action is reduced over time and the risk of producing a physical dependence is real.
Examples of these are: diazepam, lorazepam, alprazolam, chlordiazepoxide, clorazepate, oxazepam, tepazepam, nitrazepam, urazepam, loprazolam, lormetazepam, clobazam and clonazepam.
