Self-medication
Abstract
Self-medication constitutes a global problem because of its high incidence and the risk that it entails for the well-being of the population and more for the people who practice it, is the treatment of a true or imaginary pathological condition with drugs, selected without medical supervision; the most significant example is self-medication with antibiotics. Abuse of these increases the risk of resistance, as the pathogens mutate in response to a medication.
