Reading as a tool for social transformation: gender equity. Proposals for the classroom of the Superior School of Tepeji del Río, UAEH

Abstract

The objective of this text is to analyse the challenges and opportunities faced in the virtual high school classroom, in the field of gender, at the Higher School of Tepeji del Río of the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo (UAEH); therefore, a proposal of various complementary readings is prepared that allow students to broaden the gender perspective. The pandemic promoted the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), which implies the possibility of having a range of free resources available that facilitate access to various texts. Reading represents a factor of transformation in society, therefore, teachers can guide our students to exercise different levels of thinking through reading: literal, inferential and critical.
