The article presents an experimental study on the use of OpenAI's ChatGPT in robotics applications, with educational purposes in the STEAM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). The main objective is to create an interactive laboratory environment where students can explore and start their journey into the world of robotics, artificial intelligence, programming, and the interaction of ChatGPT with a robotic manipulator within the STEAM framework. This research shows that ChatGPT has the capability to solve equations or mathematical questions, and these answers are interpreted by Python as integers and sent to the Jetson NANO platform, which controls six servomotors of the robotic manipulator. Students write detailed mathematical questions to obtain a real integer as a result; using OpenAI and Python, they interpret the result, while a compact Jetson Nano computer receives the information to move the Yahboom DOFBOT robot. The movement degrees are determined by the response, and the articulation is defined by the user. This platform allows students, teachers, and researchers to delve into the world of artificial intelligence through OpenAI, robotics, and programming.
