Abstract

The study of Strategic Management started a few decades ago and should be understood as one result of the advance of Management Sciences. The current article studies the process of Strategic Management, considering both its conceptual development and its future direction in several areas. This study identifies the most important accomplishments of Strategic Management to date, contributions by different researchers and authors, and the most accepted theoretical and practical models in the field of Strategic Management. This study presents the most relevant topics, tendencies, and contributions to top management decisions in the formulation and implementation of an organizational strategy. Finally, this article ends with a section indicating the main contributions of the Revista Economía y Administracion to the field of Strategic Management through the publication of relevant articles over the last few decades.
