Abstract

In Mexico since the year 2005, based on the statistics reported by the National Institute of Statistics Geography and Informatics (INEGI), show features demographic, social and economic sectors of the elderly population, highlighting the demographic aging as a relative and absolute increase of the population in advanced ages.

In relation to the foregoing, there are books that leave us great teachings, an example of these is the book written by Velma Wallis the two elderly women. It is known that the elderly population represents a symbol of respect and wisdom in many cultures around the world including the Mesoamerican cultures.

Therefore it was in our interest to publicize this story with the intention that we never forget and always have in mind the wisdom of the elders, recalling what in all life cycle there is a beginning and an end, and that during this process do not forget in a stage of life we will arrive to be elderly.
