Abstract

Currently, access to information is extensive to find any topic; however, concepts such as sexuality and contraceptive methods use, may be considered restricted. The social impact of contraception can be seen in the specific MDG goal: universal Access to reproductive health, according to the World Health Organization. Objective.- To know the perception of medical students about use of contraceptive methods in a Public University of Hidalgo. Method.- Surveys were conducted in 60 medical students currently enrolled between 2nd and 8th semester of his career. Results.- About participants, 100% know why they are called contraceptives, and it is not uncomfortable to use them for 71.7%, and over 50% do not know the sexual history of their sexual partner. Around 88% consider the condom as the safest contraceptive, while 50% consider the pill as the most insecure. Finally, 71.7% answered they would use condoms primarily to protect themselves.
