Family function and dual diagnosis in residential users of the state center for comprehensive care of addictions
Abstract
The aim of this research is to study the relationship between family functioning and the presence of dual pathology residential users of the State Center for Comprehensive Care of Addictions, Pachuca, Hidalgo. Transversal study, observational and analytic type with a total of 384 over 16 years old residential users, who agreed to participate in the study and completed a two week stay, selected by consecutive cases at the convenience of the researcher during the time period from Jan. to July 30, 2015. The preliminary results of 16 cases, 75% were men, are given the average age was 25.88 years, for family functioning, 47% were moderately dysfunctional families, 63% of families was characterized by unrelated cohesion and 38% with a chaotic adaptability, 53.3% of families were enrolled with a serious crisis. 80% of users had a history of dependence on his father. The polydrug corresponded to 63% and the prevalence of dual diagnosis was 93%.
