Abstract

Pachuca trade became an important economic activity throughout the seventeenth century. Brought to New Spain by the Atlantic and Pacific products were welcomed by the society of the Mines of Pachuca, including porcelain, biombos, oriental furniture, silks and a variety of clothing and fabrics. All these are mixed with objects produced in New Spain territory and in the state of Hidalgo, called "de la tierra" and "de la sierra". The population could acquire these items in specialty stores.
