Profane Voices, a route to expressiveness

Keywords: Human Voice, Language, Expressivity, Profane Voices, Desinhibition

Abstract

Voice is the main human way of expression and communication. It carries and materializes our language. We communicate through it in such complex ways that only human species can. Particular evolutional conditions allowed language´s appereance in human beings. Vocality and Verbality are those two elements that shape human voice. Together they give expressivity and vivacity to voice. Socialization and “domestication” processes, divides these two elements through repression, reducing expressivity in the voice.  Disinhibition and free practice of so called Profane Voices contributes to everybody´s voice reintegration, particularly in acting students.
