Resumen

El uso excesivo de antimicrobianos en la producción animal ha contribuido al aumento y la propagación de bacterias multirresistentes. Para hacer frente a esta situación, muchos países han restringido el uso de antimicrobianos como promotores del crecimiento y han promovido el desarrollo de alternativas en la producción avícola como: probióticos, prebióticos, ácidos orgánicos, enzimas, aceites esenciales y oleorresinas. Esta revisión informa el estado actual de estas alternativas como promotores del crecimiento para la producción avícola.
