Design, analysis and fabrication of the parts of a centrifugal pump printed with petg filament
Abstract
In this work, the main parts of a centrifugal pump with an impeller and a casing were designed, and manufactured in such a way as to carry out the task of pumping a fluid. This project is the spearhead for carrying out tests on oil injectors used in the aeronautical industry. The manufacturing process was carried out with alternative materials, and at a lower cost that can also be used for educational purposes. For 3D printing, PETG was used, and a general mechanical design process was followed for which all possible factors that may affect its efficiency are taken into account. The results of the experimental part, and the analytical one show variations of less than 10%. In addition, finite element analysis simulations were done to corroborate the results with the experimental and analytical analyses.
