Evaluation of eating habits and nutritional status in university students from the UAEH, Mexico

Abstract

University life is full of changes in routine, in the distribution of time, in activities and especially in eating habits, including other factors and anthropometric measurements. The objective of this study is to evaluate the eating habits of university students in the eighth semester group one who study the optional subject of nutrition and its relationship with nutritional status, this in order to have a better notion of university nutrition and the daily caloric intake. The analysis was applied to 17 students who detailed each of the foods they consumed for 5 days, breaking down the amount of carbohydrates, lipids and proteins. The main source of calories was carbohydrates, followed by lipids and proteins, making 64.71% of the students adequately comply with the calculated TMB.
