Analysis of Bending Stress and Maximum Torsion on an Axis for Power Transmission
Abstract
This work presents the process to determine the maximum stress in bending and the maximum torsional shear stress in a power transmission shaft. The study was made considering that the loads applied on the shaft are stationary and this do not produce cyclical variations over time. The importance of calculate the bending and torsion stress lies in establishing the necessary requirements for strength and rigidity in the element and prevent a failure compromising its functionality.
