Essay: Anorexia nervosa, a silent killer

Abstract

The objetive of this essay is to present knowledge about Anorexia Nervosa which is a silent killer, this disease has been considered a classic medical condition of the middle and upper social class, it is distinguished by having an excessive phobia of weight gaining by consuming foods that can have an impact and be reflected on them in weight gain, distorting the body image in such a way that they perceive themselves as obese. In 2019 approximately 20,000 cases of anorexia were registered which in this case, the Mexican population. Said information was obtained through documentary research such as INEGI, World Health Organization (WHO), Secretary of Health, as main sources of information, among the main findings is the treatment of this disease, it was discovered that a large multidisciplinary team is required in anorexia nervosa managing, thus reversing some complications that are harmful to life itself, whereas anorexia nervosa affects young people more.
