Difficulties in learning Data Structure and teaching methodologies for its appropriation

Abstract

This research article explores the methodologies in teaching Data Structures, emphasizing the difficulties that the appropriation of its theoretical and conceptual foundations represents for students. The little didactic material and the methodologies of the teachers when instructing it led to the occurrence of shortcomings in their learning. Based on the above, the article exposes different proven teaching methods such as heuristic, interactive, experiential, gamification and project-based learning (ABP); without leaving aside the enormous importance that falls on the thought and abstraction capacity that is required when learning Data Structure. The article analyzes the connection that must exist between the students, the teacher and other factors that affect the teaching and learning of the data structure, since all these are part of a common objective for the training of technologists in data systematization. In addition, various strategies or recommendations that promote both the teaching of teachers and the learning for students are postulated, specifying them in detail and delving into their relationship with learning, teaching and the applications they perform in Data Structure.
