Automated volumetric dosing and mixing system for the block making process implemented in a LOGO module

Keywords: Automation, dosing, mixing, construction, logic module

Abstract

This work develops a proposal for the automation of a machine for the dosing and mixing stage in block manufacturing, implementing a LOGO Siemens module. Blocks of the main parameters involved were programmed, such as the percentage of materials to be dosed, the amount in liters of water required, and the duration of the mixing procedure. All these are selected by the operator from a control panel by pushing buttons connected to the controller. Before the physical connection of these elements, software simulations were carried out as a first validation of each system. With a second validation, it was verified that each subsystem complied with the previously planned function, and a final test was carried out through field tests to evaluate the behavior of the machine in a controlled environment. As a result of these tests, it was found that the machine works properly and even has some advantages in its implementation.
