An outlook on international achievements: a review on PISA results

Abstract

This paper is a brief description of the book América Latina después de PISA. Lecciones aprendidas de la educación en siete países en el periodo de 2000 – 2015, written by Axel Rivas. Its main axis is a comparative study of the educational policies implemented in the seven countries of the region that were included for the study. The purpose of the book is to identify the convergence and divergence between these countries, as well as to consider the results obtained in PISA, with the purpose of learning. A general vision of the educational policies described in the text is presented, as well as the results that were obtained in the region. From this, it is possible to identify and understand what has happened in the place evaluated during this period, according to the results presented in the study.
